Successful completion of Certificates I, II, III and IV in English Proficiency will result in the outcomes:

  • Attainment of educational, vocational and social goals;
  • Enhanced ability to function effectively in the Australian community;
  • Improved access to employment, further English language programs and other vocational training, and;
  • Skills for on-going, self directed learning. 

Certificate III in Aged CareWork provides a pathway to Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing). Upon completion of the course, with an approved work permit, police check or clearance and tax file number; students are in a position to apply for work as a personal care worker in the aged care industry.

Students are encouraged to apply for work as a personal care worker as it provides invaluable experience in basic nursing procedures. Success in gaining ongoing employment will be dependent on availability of positions in the industry, students diligence and work performance. Current estimate income ( Casual positions ) is AUD 12 - AUD 18 per hour before tax.



Successful completion of Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) HLT51607 plus an appropriate level of proficiency in English, will enable students to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of South Australia (NMBSA) for enrolment.

Enrolled nursing is an exciting and rewarding career that provides many opportunities. Enrolled nurses are employed in hospitals, community health services, residential care, private homes (home care), factories, schools, medical practices and pathology services. Enrolled nurses can find employment on a full time, part time or casual basis. It is currently estimated that approximately 49% of enrolled nurses work full time, averaging 35 hours per week. Salary ranges from $34,000 - $38,000 per annum before tax.

The Diploma of Nursing qualification provides a pathway into both the Bachelor of Nursing (the qualification for Registered Nursing), or Bachelor of Midwifery (direct entry). As an enrolled nurse the students can also access study in specialised areas such as peri-operative care, rural and remote emergency trauma or paediatrics.
