Course Outline
This course is for people who work or want to work in the aged care sector in a range of residential aged care facilities within the community services and health industry. Students will learn about the aged care sector, interviewing and communicating with older people, and providing care and support to older people within residential facilities.

Outcomes
Participants who successfully complete this program may pursue further training and education pathways in aged care and/or health, such as the Diploma of Nursing (Pre-enrolment).
The Course aims to provide:
An accredited training program at Australian Quality Framework (AQF) level 3 for people wishing to pursue a career as an Assistant in Nursing in the aged care sector of the health industry. Training and skill development in areas including workplace occupational health and safety, infection control, basic medical terminology, human biology and care and support to aged people, including those with disabilities. Focus on “in-patient” and residential care.
The employment positions that a person completing this course could hold include: Personal Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Assistant in Nursing, Nursing Attendant and Personal Care Assistant. They can expect to earn an average of $14 - $18 per hour. |
